On December 24, 2022, Christmas Eve, we were in Kolati-kavre to distribute 316 blankets to local populations, mainly made up of groups often discriminated against: Majhi, Pohari, Sarki, Nepali, Pariyar and others.
Here the population dispersed between different hamlets lives from agricultural activities. Due to the lack of roads accessible to vehicles, we settled in the upper hamlet, a place called “Marketplace”.
People, initially few because we were ahead of schedule, came to us, some walking an hour from the hamlets located down near the Sunkoshi River.
Thank you to the drivers for their dexterity and calm.
Thanks to Bhim Thapa for his help both in terms of contact with the village and practical organization (he got up at 3:30 a.m. to accompany the truck with the blankets).
Thanks to Paudel Uma Laville for her help during distribution and her support in our actions.
Big thanks to the President of the local committee, Bharat Bahadur Shivabhakti, for the organization on site. Thank you to the community for its warm welcome.
Thanks also to the Rangoli garment factory, Surendra and his team for the magnificent blankets (180*200cm, therm fiber, magnificent printed fabric, all sized at 2.5 kg!).
Thanks again to all the “donors” without whom nothing would be possible.
